Meet the Pastor:

Pastor Gregory C. Trotter was born in Laurel, Mississippi.  He’s the oldest son of John and Mae Joyce Trotter.  He graduated, with honors, from Heidelberg High School (Heidelberg, MS.) in 1973.  After high school he joined the United States Army and served from 1973 to 1981.  Upon receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to civilian life and joined UPS in Abilene, Texas and retired after 25 years of service.

Pastor Trotter accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry on January 25, 1990 under the tutelage of Pastor C. C. Hines in Abilene, Texas.  Since that time his objectives have been, and still remain, to preach the Gospel so that broken hearts can be healed and the blind might see.  He strives to promote unity within the church and the community; to grow the church through witnessing, and to minister to the needs of the entire Body of Christ.  Pastor Trotter is a strong believer in Christ, his Church, the unity of the family and supports his beliefs with his time and money.   He was Licensed in May 1990 and Ordained in November 2003.

Since beginning a life of ministry, Pastor Trotter has served in several ministerial positions from 1983 to 2004.  He served as Deacon, Superintendent/General Administrator of Sunday School, Associate to the Pastor, and Interim Pastor at King Solomon Baptist Church (Abilene, TX).  In August 2004 he founded and pastored Bible Way Baptist Church until April 2006.  Upon moving to Dallas in 2006, Pastor Trotter became Associate Minister at First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park.  Following the Lord’s directions, he united with Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony (FBCTC) in July 2010 where he served as Associate Minister until becoming Interim Pastor in February 2012.

In September 2012, the congregation of Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony elected Pastor Trotter as Senior Pastor and he was officially installed as the Senior Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony in November 2012.

Pastor Trotter is a 1994 Summa Cum Laude graduate of New World Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Theology degree.  He graduated, with honors, from Dallas Institute of Funeral Services in 2006 and became a licensed funeral director in 2008. In May 2010 Pastor Trotter joined the Dallas VA Medical Center as a Medical Support Assistant.  He terminated his position with the Dallas VA Medical Center to become the full time Pastor of FBCTC.

Pastor Trotter is married to Doris Trotter and is the father of four children and the grandfather of three.  He enjoys fishing, hunting and sports.
